Terms of Service

HomeSlate is a customer-side household ledger — your own tally book for what was delivered and what you paid. It is not a payment processor, and it sits between you and nobody. These terms explain what you can expect from the app and what we expect from you.

The agreement

By installing or using HomeSlate you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the app. These terms are an agreement between you and SMAT Solutions Pvt. Ltd., a private limited company in India, which publishes HomeSlate under the Kreativish AI name and is reachable at kreativish.ai@gmail.com. "We" and "us" mean that company. These terms cover the mobile app and the HomeSlate website.

What HomeSlate is

HomeSlate is a tally book for household services — a convenient record of what you received and what you paid. It is your side of the ledger, kept for your own reference, and it is provided for personal, non-commercial household use.

What HomeSlate is not

This matters more than the list above, because the app sits next to money and could easily be mistaken for something it is not.

  • Not a payment processor. No money moves through HomeSlate. Recording a payment here does not pay anybody.
  • Not a vendor-side or business system. Your milkman does not see this, is not notified by it, and does not have an account.
  • Not an accounting, tax, invoicing, or legal tool, and not advice of any kind.
  • Not an authority on what you owe. It shows what you logged — nothing is verified against your vendor.
  • Not a backup service. Cloud backup is a convenience, not a guarantee; keep your own records for anything that matters.

Your records, your responsibility

Totals are calculated from what you log, from saved entries only — an entry you did not save is an entry the maths never saw. HomeSlate does not verify amounts, rates, or deliveries with your vendors, and cannot know about a day you forgot to record. Always settle disputes against your own records and receipts, not against a screen in this app. You are responsible for what you enter and for checking it before you rely on it.

Eligibility

You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, and at least 13, to use HomeSlate. If you are under 18, use it with a parent or guardian's involvement.

Your account

An account is optional — the app works fully without one, and exists only to back up and restore your ledger. If you make one, you are responsible for keeping your password safe and for what happens under your account. Tell us at kreativish.ai@gmail.com if you think someone else has access to it. We may suspend or close accounts that abuse the service, attack it, or use it to break the law.

Acceptable use

Ordinary household use is what this is for. Please do not:

  • Resell, rent out, or run HomeSlate as a service for other people.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or try to extract source or keys from the app, except where the law says you may.
  • Attack, overload, probe, or attempt to bypass the security of the app, the website, or the servers behind them.
  • Use it to store unlawful content, or to harass or defraud anyone.
  • Use an automated system to create accounts or generate traffic.
  • Attempt to reach another user's data.

Free use and Pro

HomeSlate is free to use for one service — set up your milk, or your paper, or your laundry, and log it for as long as you like at no cost. Tracking more than one service at a time requires a paid Pro subscription. Pro is offered as a monthly plan, a yearly plan, and a one-time lifetime purchase; which of these are available, and at what price, is shown in the app before you buy anything.

Billing, trials, and renewal

Every purchase is handled by the App Store or Google Play under their rules, not by us.

  • Prices are shown in your own currency, by the store, before any purchase. Nothing is ever charged without your explicit confirmation.
  • Where a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel before it ends.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and renewal is charged to your store account.
  • Cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings — cancelling in the store is the only thing that stops a renewal, and deleting the app does not.
  • Cancelling stops the next charge; access continues to the end of the period you already paid for.
  • Purchases can be restored on a new or reset device from Settings → Restore purchases.
  • A lifetime purchase is a one-time payment for the current app on your store account, and does not renew.

Refunds

Refunds are issued by the App Store or Google Play under their own policies, because they took the payment and we never did — we cannot issue one directly. Ask the store first. If something in the app went wrong and the store turns you down, write to kreativish.ai@gmail.com anyway and we will do what we reasonably can, including advocating with the store.

Price and plan changes

Prices may change over time. An existing subscription keeps its price for the period already paid for, and any increase affecting a renewal will be notified through the store as its rules require, with the chance to cancel first. We may add, change, or retire plans; a lifetime purchase already made stays honoured for the app it was bought for.

Your data belongs to you

Your ledger is yours. We claim no ownership of your entries, rates, payments, or the names you give your services, and we do not use them to train anything or sell them to anyone. We store and transmit them only to run the features you turned on, as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for having the right to enter what you enter.

Our side of the ownership

The app, the website, the HomeSlate name and marks, the drawn service icons, the designs, and the code are ours and stay ours. Using HomeSlate gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use it on devices you control — it does not transfer any ownership to you.

Availability and changes

We work to keep HomeSlate available and correct, but it is offered without any promise of uninterrupted service. Features may be added, changed, or removed as the app develops, and a feature marked early or experimental may change or disappear. If we ever discontinue a paid feature you bought outright, we will say so and treat you fairly about it.

Third-party services

HomeSlate relies on services we do not control — the App Store, Google Play, our cloud and subscription providers, and your device's own operating system. Their terms govern their parts, and an outage or a change on their side can affect the app through no fault of ours. Links out from the app or the website are not endorsements of what you find there.

No warranty

We work hard to keep your data safe and the math right, but the app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that any calculation matches what a vendor believes you owe.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, or for lost profits, lost data, or a billing disagreement with a vendor, arising out of your use of HomeSlate. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or the equivalent of ten US dollars. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, and nothing here takes away consumer rights you hold in your own country.

Ending it

You may stop using HomeSlate at any time by deleting the app, and you may ask us to delete your account and cloud data at kreativish.ai@gmail.com. We may suspend or end access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken, or if we are required to by law. If we end your access without cause while you hold an unexpired paid subscription, ask the store for a refund of the unused part and write to us.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes will be handled by the courts of competent jurisdiction in India. If you are a consumer elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country you live in. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still stands.

Changes

We may update these terms as the app evolves, and the date at the top always says when they last changed. If a change is material we will bring it to your attention in the app rather than changing the text quietly. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms; if you do not accept them, stop using the app and write to us about anything you have paid for.

This is the same text the app shows under Settings → Terms of Service. If the two ever disagree, tell us at kreativish.ai@gmail.com — that is a bug, not a technicality.
